These little paintings are memorials.  Cody the little dog on top had passed 2 years ago and Liddy had just past a few months ago.

 

Though I do not want to make anyone cry, I am grateful when I received an email from the owner of these two pups saying that I'd captured them and she was crying just looking at the JPGs of the  paintings I'd emailed her.  She had tears in her eyes when I delivered and handed the paintings to her.

The town of Roswell in Georgia is known for the many art galleries.  I'm so happy to belong to a gallery there.  Last year when HGTV was decorating one of their Sweepstakes Give-Away home, the staff visited Roswell galleries to chose artwork to decorate the home.  There were several pieces from the Muse and Co gallery that were selected (sadly not one of mine) and the gallery was mentioned and received a little PR for it.

This was a birthday gift for a woman from her husband.  My friend has a painting just like this sitting in her office - the angel is wearing a yellow dress which I'd painted for her in 2011.  Her sister would often comment that she'd like one just like it.  So when her sister's husband needed gift ideas, my friend mentioned the painting and I was commissioned to paint another but with a different dress color and different hair. 

 

It's the red cowboy boots.  We do, after all, live in Texas.  Of course our angels wear cowboy boots!

This painting feels like Summer to me.  Summer dances.

I was commissioned to do a painting of an angel with two dogs and one dog needed to be sitting.  So I did this study.  I love the minimalism of this....I am hoping that if this painting sells, I want to donate the proceeds - my net to a rescue group.  My rescue group of choice is the GSP Rescue.

Oh my goodness!  I found some 2 inch deep cradled panels on sale - they only had 3 so I bought all three!  So much fun to paint on - the paint just glides on the smooth surface.

 

This started as a commission sketch for a gallery.  I have not heard back from the gallery so I suppose the commissioner is not interested in the sketches I did.  I fixed this up though because I didn't quite like the original painting/sketch.  I made the little girl a little thicker and made her hair more blond or light.  And then I made them more abstract with only wisps of color.

Whitey Tighty - white briefs painting

Fun painting!  I did fix it a little - I posted this painting on Facebook when I first finished it and had such funny comments about it....like when a woman is losing an argument with a man, all she has to do is play with her breasts and she can win....or that whitey tighty refer to men's undies...

 

The fixes were in her jawline which I did not like.  Now I like the finished painting....she is NOT playing with her breasts - she is covering them...
