Rough Collie

I was asked to paint a Rough Collie. Hmmmm....this was difficult actually. And here's why - the long nose. Trying to get the face and all it's features into that small size. Now a pug or a kitty cat I can fit into the square and trim a little of their faces and still one can tell what it is.

Ozzy

This is a painting of my friend Teresa's cat Ozzy. Yes, one green eye and one blue. I've been told that cats with blue eyes are deaf in the side their eye is blue. I forgot to ask Teresa if Ozzy is deaf in one ear, but yesterday he ignored us when she tried to coax him down the stairs. But then again, cats do do that...ignore us and pretend not to hear.

I think it's wonderful to listen. I strive to be a good listener although sometimes my ADD gets in the way. But I also think that it's Okay to pretend not to hear at times.

Willie and Metroport Humane Society

The photo of this painting came out a little dark; I should really study the photoshop tips that R. Garriott writes about on his blog, Daily Paintings plus Photoshop Tips. At any rate, I emailed this painting to Cheryl who is a member of the Metroport Humane Society near my house. She said this cat looks a lot like her new adoptee, Willie, so that is what I'm calling this painting. Willie was at an animal shelter for 34 days, 31 days too long, when Cheryl happened to visit the shelter.

Next week-end I'm going to auction this little painting on this blog and donate the proceeds to the Metroport Humane Society. The auction will begin on Saturday, Feb 21 at 8am and end on Monday Feb 23 at 8pm. Anyone interested in this painting can send me an email with the amount they are willing to buy this painting during that time and the person with the highest bid will win the painting.

I will only open emails received during the auction period and with the proper subject line. Please only write a dollar amount you wish to buy the painting for.

Boris, The Bassett

Oh it's a gloomy, cloudy Sunday morning...it just seems appropriate to have this little fellow on my blog telling me to smile a little.

Yesterday I stopped by to visit with Kim Norris to pick up a beautiful little bowl that she made for me. I had bought a similar one from her a while back - they have little quotes and saying on them and the one I asked her to make for me says "...and they lived happily ever after". It is a gift. : )
