I was having fun with the palette knife and did this little painting...I was talking to a friend about a ancestral farm house - but this is purely imagination. I don't even have a clue what the farm house looks like. Painting from imagination was fun!! It's all make-believe isn't it?

Spring is definitely turning into Summer quick. I love this time of year, it's just hot enough but not uncomfortable. I visited an old friend today. I used to live near her so it was nice to drive by my old home which hadn't changed in the six years since I've moved away. We talked for about two hours trying to fill the hours with all that has been happening in these past couple of years. Things change, things don't change; children grow older and away, new pets, pets we miss, pounds ganined and lost, new diets that work and haven't, so much to say and too little time.

I must not let too much time before we get together again.

A Glass of Wine with Friends

My painting buddy and friend, Barbara wanted me to paint her a couple more paintings of wine glasses. The scene is from the Los Pinos Winery we went to last fall in East Texas. We actually had three white wine but I've changed one glass to red for this painting.

A Circle of Friends

Yesterday, I met with fellow artists, Nancy Medina, Filomena Booth and Kim Norris for a little art-talk and coffee at Sandella's Cafe in Southlake. Painting and creating can sometimes become a very solitary endeavor, so getting together to share coffee, advice, brainstorm, ideas, opinions and of course laughter is so necessary to get inspired to get back to the easel.

Nancy and I are painting buddies, we take art classes together, paint together and have had several shows together. Fil, an abstract artist, has been my mentor and teacher giving me the kick to get this blog going and selling/marketing on-line. Kim is a pottery artist. I just love her bowls and have several of them. I am so lucky to have such wonderful, creative artists I can call friends!

Last weekend I went with friends to a winery in East Texas to enjoy a glass and some tapas.
