I might be having a senior moment; I think I've posted this painting on my blog a while back.  I painted this back in July or so from a idea that someone had given me.  I love the color of the muted green I used.  Well the painting is still available so I've decided to give Ebay a try - I hadn't been selling there in a long while so it's a test run to see how it works out.   A lot of artists had moved away from selling on Ebay because many of the old rules on how to search for something on Ebay had changed.  I think the changes hurt individual Artists because big-time sellers got top visibility on searches when a buyer was just browsing.  I had an Ebay "store" but the fees were getting complicated.

I started posting my artwork on Etsy as a result. 

Well, Ebay has been trying to get people to list on their site by giving several promotions so I've listed this painting at a fairly low start price on Ebay to experiment.  If you are looking for something special as a holiday gift, perhaps an original oil painting?  Check out Ebay - and Happy Bidding!

I've listed a number of my paintings to sell on Etsy lately. I had been using Ebay as a marketplace but noticed a lot of artists moving to Etsy. What are your feelings about one or either or both as a place to market your artwork? I'd love to hear your opinions - pro/con.

I've entered the Alex Perez Fine Art Gallery Summer Exhibition Contest - voting starts today and will be open until June 21. I believe you can only vote once but you can vote on several of your favorite artworks. There are 45 artists in the exhibit. Max - Pet Portrait Painting

This little fellow is a friend's pet who disappeared last month during the cold rainy, sleeting night we had here in North Texas when he was let out into his fenced back yard for his nightly perlustrations. They were devastated and commissioned me for a painting of him. I delivered this painting yesterday and was pleased that I was able to catch his inquisitive look. They were really happy to have an original painting of their beloved Max to remember him by.

I was looking at my inventory of paintings that I need to clear away so I can move around in my painting room. So starting later this day, I will be posting paintings on Ebay at super, incredible prices. Starting at 8x10 sized paintings to larger 20x24 inches at "Crazy Judy" prices...I picture a TV ad with someone smashing a window or an appliance calling themselves "crazy someone" is smashing prices... As I attempted to list this painting on Ebay I realized I'd misspelled the title of my last two Ebay listings - instead of "Painting a Day" I'd put "Paining a Day".

Oh my! Is it a Freudian slip? Pain a day?

It is a pain to realize that my listing had not been found on any searches for "painting" - darn!!

Yesterday the weather here in the DFW area was warm warm warm - AND I wore sandals in February! I don't like the cold and having to wear layers of clothes! I know I have some readers in Australia who are having incredibly warm weather and some of you in the North are hating me for this beautiful weather - but hey - here in Texas we say, "if you don't like the weather - wait 10 minutes"...So we're supposed to have cooler temps today and this morning, the sun has disappeared and it's cloudy...

Aaah but warm, Spring-like weather lifts my spirits and so do Daisies.

My high school alumni friend and artist, Sheila Tajima of California has listed her artwork on Ebay. It's hard to get noticed when you first start on Ebay because of a lack of "feedbacks" from other buyers. I started selling on Ebay about a year and a half ago with the help of my good friend and artist Filomena Booth who has been selling quite successfully on Ebay. She taught me the ropes. She then put a bid on one of my first listings. That bid encouraged other buyers, who were strangers to me, to bid on my paintings. Having bids really is helpful because it turns people who are just looking into buyers. It's that "Ebay psychology".

A Touch of Pink

Italian Door

There were so many arched doorways in Italy with flower pots flanking the openings - this one is from a photo I took in Monticchiello in Southern Tuscany, Italy.
