I Think He Loves Me Floral Palette Knife Paintng

"I Think He Loves Me"
12" x  12" x 1.5", Oil on Stretched Canvas

I painted this a while ago and it is exhibited and available at The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, TX.  The title is inspired by daisy petals being picked to foresee if someone loves.....and ending on the proper petal to get the answer..."he loves me".

White Flowers - an Oil Painting of Daisies

"White Flowers"
12 x 12 x 3/4 inches,
Oil on Canvas
Available - email me for price.
White Daisies. In the movie "You've got Mail", Meg Ryan's character Kathleen likes Daisies.
There's a line in the movie - I had to look it up at imdb.com - in which she says: "Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. Well, not small, but valuable. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void."

So here it is again, doing something that scares you...be valuable, be brave.
It's the cosmic question.
Happy Saturday to all and by the way - I love mail - let me know if you've been doing something different - it doesn't have to be scary.

Heavenly

"Heavenly"
6 x 6 inches, Oil on Board
Making lemonade out of lemons. That's what this painting is about. Have you dropped a slice of buttered toast on the floor? It always lands on the buttered side - no 3 second rule there - the butter picks up every dust bunny on the floor. Well that happened to me with this painting - I dropped it - face down onto my painting chair. I'll have to recover the seat of the chair - right now I've got a towl on it. I scraped the paint off and started over. Sometimes starting over is a good thing. Starting over can be the lemonade one makes out of lemons.
Hoping you're all having a good weekend!

Loves Me Not, Loves Me

"Loves Me Not, Loves Me"

14 x 14 x 3/4", Original Oil on Gallery-wrapped canvas
$200.00 + s/h

Yesterday the weather here in the DFW area was warm warm warm - AND I wore sandals in February! I don't like the cold and having to wear layers of clothes! I know I have some readers in Australia who are having incredibly warm weather and some of you in the North are hating me for this beautiful weather - but hey - here in Texas we say, "if you don't like the weather - wait 10 minutes"...So we're supposed to have cooler temps today and this morning, the sun has disappeared and it's cloudy...

Aaah but warm, Spring-like weather lifts my spirits and so do Daisies.

My high school alumni friend and artist, Sheila Tajima of California has listed her artwork on Ebay. It's hard to get noticed when you first start on Ebay because of a lack of "feedbacks" from other buyers. I started selling on Ebay about a year and a half ago with the help of my good friend and artist Filomena Booth who has been selling quite successfully on Ebay. She taught me the ropes. She then put a bid on one of my first listings. That bid encouraged other buyers, who were strangers to me, to bid on my paintings. Having bids really is helpful because it turns people who are just looking into buyers. It's that "Ebay psychology".
So if you're reading this, take a moment and check out Sheila's Ebay listing for her cute Affirmation Angels ACEO art listings - Click Here. (Just don't out-bid me I have my eye on a couple of them! - well OK - if you must outbid me...)

Field of Yellow Flowers

Last year we had a wet Spring here in North Texas. The low-lying, flat area of our property which touches the Army Corp of Engineer's land skirting Lake Grapevine flooded. This Spring, the orchard and vegetable garden that we had planted in years previous has been replaced by a field of volunteer Black-Eyed Susans, seeds which were deposited by the flood water.

This is a small painting, 4 x 4 inches, "Field of Yellow", Oil on gessoed masonite, painted with the palette knife.
Available on Ebay.
