A couple of months ago Ugallery contacted the artists to take part in their Advent Calendar special pricing by painting a Christmas/Wintry scene to be offered everyday for the 24 days of Christmas.  Mine was featured yesterday.

 

The inspiration for this painting came from the carols "Hark, the Herald, Angels Sing". and "Do you See What I See?"   The angel in my painting is heralding the good news when she sees the bright star.

 

The other day I had left a foam sheet in my front room.  This foam is left over from shipping a large painting so I didn't have any use for it.  But when I went out for about 10 minutes, my puppy, Ruby thought she'd check it out...

 

When I came home and found the foam and asked Ruby and my current foster dog, Faith what happened to it they said they didn't know, but looked pretty guilty, if you ask me....

Tango Dancers - El Bailar

I wanted to try painting Tango dancers for a while.  But I painted this from the "leg"/"feet" aspect.  I like to sometimes guess what the art is about, I don't want to know the whole story, I want to fill in the blanks.

 

I heard a while back when the high definition T.V.'s were coming out that watcing HD actually made the brain get bored.  Because of all the fine details the eye sees, the brain doesn't need to "fill in the blanks" and so while seeing all the details might be exciting, the brain sometimes doesn't want to follow along in the story.  Because I'm of an age that remember B&W movies and T.V shows, I wonder then if that is why I like the old movies?

 

While we watch Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers dance in a classic movie, we don't know if she's wearing red, or blue...but it captures our attention and we watch their ever footsteps

 

I must apologize with this photo of my painting, however.  The problem with this photo is that the painting is dark and I wasn't able to take a good photo without the glare.    The areas that look like white is very subtle in the original painting.  I'll have to re-take this photo.

I posted this on facebook and asked for title suggestions and I like the title that I selected.  Others were "Angel Hug", "Colorful Hug".

Sisterhood of the Jazzfeet

Six month ago I join friends who had been telling me just how much they enjoy Jazzercise.  I can see why they enjoy it.  The location I exercise is a huge auditorium in our local church.  On a slow day there may be 20 of us and on busy days there may be 50.  There are several instructors in addition to the owner of this Jazzercise franchise.  They are all friendly and they chatter while we move our bodies to the music.

 

Sometimes it brings back memories of my "disco days".  

 

The general manager of the group had taken this photo of the instructors and gals and I "borrowed" it for this painting.  It goes with my feet series.
