When It's Cold and Rainy Outside

The other day my painting friend Barbara brought these two huge lemons from her mother's garden. They actually looked as big as grapefruits. It was rainy and cold yesterday so I painted these bright fellows.

Since there are two of them I've titled this one "Together".

Peonies

A bunch of Peonies in a glass bowl , I just added the finishing touches on my newest painting, "Peonies". I do have one peony plant in my garden but I haven't got a green thumb and I've heard they are hard to grow in Texas. Well, if I can't grow them, I can certainly paint them,

Swiss Guard of Vatican City, Rome

This young man standing proud and colorful is a Swiss Guard who watches the Vatican City in Rome. I love the shape of his uniform as well as the bright colors.

Enoteca

Enotecas are wine stores that offer wine tasting in Italy. There's one in Buonconvento, Italy which displays bottles on a shelf just outside their door. I took a photo of the wine bottle display a few years ago. There were eight bottles on display. Last year, when we visited Buonconvento and walked by the Enoteca there were a few more bottles on display...

This is a small painting on gessoed board, 5 x 7 inches, and shows only a portion of the whole shelf.

A Pair of Abstracts

Just finished a pair of abstracts on small canvas, 6x6 inches, a mixture of brush and palette knife painting. I love the soft muted grays of these paintings.

I have not come up with a title for them yet.
