This is another painting of the same bedroom I did earlier which I called, "Alone, Tonight". This one is called "After Sunset"....same moodiness. This painting is on Raymar art board which was toned with black.
We were driving to the train station at Chiusi to meet Papa when as we turned in a wide sweeping bend in the road near Montepulciano a beautiful white colored church suddenly comes into view. We didn't have time to stop that day to visit nor take photos. I regreted not having the time to visit nor learn about the church. The following year as we made our plans to drive from the Dolomites to Pescara, we made a point to stay in Tuscany again so that I could visit this
beautiful Renaisance church sitting in the shadows of Montepulciano. Chiesa di San Biagio. Oil on board, 6" x 8".
The little chapel of Vitaleta in Southern Tuscany is so picturesque that it has been captured by photographers and artists a thousand times. Here it is again. Oil on Board 6" x 8". $39.95 with free shipping.
This is something I painted last year with the palette knife. I'm putting it on Ebay for sale. It is larger at 20" x 16" - Oil on stretched canvas. Lots of texture. If you're interested, please click on the link below and you'll be taken to the Ebay site.
Monday morning I went with fellow artist Barbara Woods to the Dallas Arboretum to find something to paint for their May Paint-Out. There are so many beautiful scenes it is almost a little too overwhelming. It would have been nice to take a visit a day before to scope out the place and get a feel for what to paint.
After walking around a bit both Barbara and I set up our easels in front of the DeGolyer Home and painted the door. I love doors so it was appropriate, I felt although the painting does not feature a lot of flowers.
So I did a second painting of a trio of pots that were near the Cafe along the walkway the lead to the DeGolyer Home. The combination of white, read and blue flowerpots were beautiful. It was full of Geraniums and Petunias.
This is the painting that came from painting in my garden a couple of weeks ago. It's a small 8x10 inches oil on stretched canvas painting of a fountain. Although I've signed it, I think I am going to work on this one a little more. I've been away from painting for a couple of weeks. When I walked into my studio this morning I was anxious to post this on my blog but as I was preparing it, I see "things" that still need work.
