Nocturne, Palette Knife Oil Paintng

"Nocturne"
8" x 8 ", Oil on Board

My camera is starting to fade.  I've had it for a few years, Panasonic Lumix DMC-Z18.  The zoom function is not working anymore.  It still takes wonderful photos if I don't need to zoom.  The battery doesn't hold charge as long as it once used to.  I have other digital cameras so I'm OK but I think I will need to shop for a camera soon.

I took this little painting outside to photograph.  It is a windy day today so I was careful not to leave it unattended while I fiddled with the settings.  I snapped several photos and then switch to a macro setting to get some close-ups of the paint strokes when it happened.  The wind gust made it lean into the lens and since this painting is still wet, it scraped a lot of the flowers off.

This painting above is the second attempt after correcting and adding the lost petals.  I was going to title this painting, Hydrangeas in the Moonlight but as I was looking at it, Nocturne seemed more appropriate.  Sometimes I think I get too explicit in titles.  I think the mood/feel is a better way to title some pieces.  Whatever works.

Nice work!
I love the bold strokes and texture on your painting.
