"The Angels Hug Me Like You Used to"

It's been a while since I'd painted this painting.  I didn't want to post it at the time because this is a special painting for a very special friend whose Pug had crossed the rainbow bridge.  I hope she doesn't mind my sharing the photo now.  We don't move on because dogs leave their paw prints in our hearts.  I hoped that she would be reassured that All Dogs Go to Heaven.

This is painted with the palette knife in the style of most of my angel paintings.

Received an email from Ugallery where a few of my pieces are exhibited that my painting "Tall Black Vase" had sold.  This is not a new painting, it's several years old.  There were times I could not part with this particular painting and would not list it as "available".  There are a lot of colors and textures in this that the photograph does not show.

 

But I'm also glad that it has sold and that there is someone in this world that likes my painting just as much as I do.

Last weeek a friend sent a link to a Japanese music video on a site much like YouTube which had an ad for Ugallery using the above painting.  I did not know that Ugallery would be using this painting in theri advertising.  This painting/Ugallery ad appeared on several other sites.  So it was no wonder that this painting sold after that week of advertising!  How exciting to be featured!

I let the undertone color of rosy pink show through the blue/aqua-blue of the background.  Painting in this manner of not completely covering the surface is rather satisfying.
