Arboretum Plein Air

Monday morning I went with fellow artist Barbara Woods to the Dallas Arboretum to find something to paint for their May Paint-Out. There are so many beautiful scenes it is almost a little too overwhelming. It would have been nice to take a visit a day before to scope out the place and get a feel for what to paint.

After walking around a bit both Barbara and I set up our easels in front of the DeGolyer Home and painted the door. I love doors so it was appropriate, I felt although the painting does not feature a lot of flowers.

So I did a second painting of a trio of pots that were near the Cafe along the walkway the lead to the DeGolyer Home. The combination of white, read and blue flowerpots were beautiful. It was full of Geraniums and Petunias.
