Quietly, It Rains

"Quietly, It Rains"

22 x 24 x 3/4 inches, Oil on Canvas

I was not feeling very happy when I painted this painting...a little melancholia, a little sadness, a little blue and maybe a little angry. I wanted to paint my mood in this very abstract landscape. I really did plan to title this piece "Deep Funk", but decided against it.

This is gorgeous! I feel the down mood of this but it is as lovely as rain is a necessity for all of life. I love that it's on a larger canvas too. Hope things are better for you today. Hugs!

And rain as are tears are a necessity.

I can totally relate Judy! It's funny though, when I look at it really doesn't make me feel down. I makes me feel quiet just as your title suggests. It's quite stunning.

I really felt deep under the sea wrapped up in a rip curl.
It was all very exciting.

And just look what beauty came out of that melancholia! A very tactile piece - kind of makes me want to rub at it like a window, to see more clearly, yet not.. it's intriquing, beguiling...

This is a lovely painting, Judy. Even though you listed the emotions you felt went into it, I don't necessarily think the viewer will see them. Everyone seems to bring their own moods and self into the experience of the painting. I find that fascinating.
