Till Tomorrow

"Till Tomorrow"
11 x 14 x 3/4" Oil on Canvas
I'd painted a similar, larger painting a while back in a square format. When I was asked to do this size I was a little worried that the horizontal format might not work for the subject matter. While the boat is key - it's the sky that I wanted to fill the painting with. But I think it turned out ok.

Lakeshore - Abstract Lanscape Palette Knife Oil Painitng

"Lakeshore"
6 x 6 inches, Oil on board, Palette Knife
This abstract came about from playing with color. I'd actually wanted a more teal color instead of this intense blue but I think it works with the warm red. I use a limited palette when painting and for this one I used just Prussian Blue, Cad Yellow Pale, Cad Red and white. I find it fun to be able to come up with various combinations using the limited palette, but magenta is a hard one to mix.

Two Septembers ago we visited Switzerland and stayed at Sylvaplana just outside of St. Moritz. Out hotel faced the Lake of Sylvaplana and when I looked out the window in the morning the fog was thick over the lake.
