"Seaside"
10 x 10 inches, Oil on Gallery wrapped canvas
Although we had some weather and snow flurries, I think my heart is looking forward to warmer days. Long, long, long and oh so long ago I visited the beaches north eastern part of Florida and remember the dunes and the salt grasses...but when someone asks me what beach I've painted I am at a loss because I also remember the beaches in Australia near Phillip Island where I went to go watch the penguins come out from the sea to feed their young one very cold November evening. And I spent many a youthful day on the beaches of Enoshima and Kamakura in Japan...

Ahhh...this is my fave now. :-)
Perhaps it has to do with spring fever, and a longing for a vacation, but this is lovely. You have a talent for depth that I haven't seen in your still life paintings, which rely on your color talent more than composition. But the knifework in this piece is wonderful.
Beautiful...
Whatever beach it is, I wanna be there. Beautiful painting.
Judy, This piece just sings to me! LOVE those loose and painterly strokes! WELL DONE!
I love your beach scene, Judy! I especially like the clouds and the water!!
Wow! I love this Judy. Not only because it a little bigger than what I've been seeing but it's so refreshing after all this rain and gloom.
Maabushii! It feels so real I feel I should go grab my sunhat and sunblock lotion!
Judy it's beautiful. I want to be there too.
Beautiful!! Feel as if I could walk right in to this beach scene... just wishing!!
Had to come back & have another look at this beauty...Wonderful summer feelings in the midst of winter...
Thanks DJ for coming back - wow! you really made my day for doing so!!!
OMG this is stunning Judy. A really beautiful painting.
Judy...came to your blog via Joan's...love your work...your use of the limited palette and the looseness in your brushwork/palette knife is just great. I really enjoyed perusing your work. I look forward to following.
