Summer of '42 - Oil Painting of a Beach

"Summer of '42 Revisited"
16 x 20 inches, Oil on Gallery wrapped Canvas
A commission for a friend. I took the photo for this painting when the sky was overcast and still there is a glare on the bottom right side of the photo...Although the colors are lavender in that area it shows a lot lighter.

Absolutely beautiful. I agree with Sheila and Gary. It's a summery dream to come. Soon I hope.

Judy: Some of us are old enough to remember the beauty of the movie "Summer of 42". Your rendering of this picture is at just as beautiful. Great job.

Love the intense colors used here...so many beach scenes are pale/washed out. The intensity lends itself to the sunlight present. Well done!
