I was inspired to paint a dog portrait using the palette knife by seeing Carrie Jacobson's dog paintings. Carrie posts on the Palette Knife Painters Blog and the Art for the Animals Blog.

Up until now, I'd done all my pet portraits with the brush and on a smaller scale. This particular painting is from a previous one I'd done with a brush and I use this image on some of my business cards. It's a palette knife painting of my own dog an English Pointer mix, Stella so it's not for sale but I'd be very happy to paint your special pet.
